I went to a lecture at the SFMOMA yesterday on the love letters between the artists Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O’keeffe. They wrote thousands of letters within their lifelong love affair and marriage. It was overwhelming listening to how deeply connected and in love they were. Stieglitz would sometimes write up to forty pages and often, four letters a day when they were apart. My Faraway One * photo above taken of Georgia O’keeffe by Alfred Stieglitz.
I woke up this morning with the words of Emily Dickinson in my head.
* The photo above was originally taken along the Ganges in India as a self-portrait. It turned into something on the lines of love for sure when I started working with the piece at home.
